1½ c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
½ c. water
2 t. vanilla
2 c. flour
2 t. salt
2 t. cinnamon
1 t. baking soda
1 t. ground cloves
2 c. raisins
6 c. quick-cooking oats
2 c. chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together thoroughly the shortening, brown sugar, sugar, eggs, water and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350º for 12 minutes or until almost no imprint remains when touched with finger. (Do not overbake.) Remove immediately from cookie sheet onto a rack to cool.
