1/2 c. buttered Crisco
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. milk
3/4 c. cherries
3/4 or 1 box chopped dates

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º F.

Mix shortening, sugar, and eggs.

Add milk, flour, cinnamon, salt, and baking soda.

Mix well together and then add dates and cherries.

Bake for 12-13 minutes.
