Directions:
Directions:
Line two 9"X5"X3" loaf pans or two 8" tube plans with heavy waxed or brown paper. Prepare fruits and nuts; dust with 1/4 cup of the Five Roses Flour. Stir remaining Five Roses Flour, Salt, baking soda and spices together. Cream shortening and brown sugar together until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add molasses; mix well. Blend in dry ingredients; fold in fruit and nut mixture. Fill prepared pans 2/3 full. Bake in a slow oven at 300 degrees for 2 hours or until done. Place a shallow pan of hot water on bottom rack of oven during baking; remove during last hour. Cool before removing paper; re-wrap in cheese cloth and foil well and store in an airtight container in a cool place.
After a week or two pour brandy or rum (1.5 to 2 oz) on it, pour slowly allowing the liquor to absorb into the cake, just enough to keep it moist.

Hints: Cook 2 hours but check after 90 minutes. The cake will be dry and very dark if cooked too long. Putting water in the bottom of the oven is essential. (Can use butter and shortening mixed)
