2/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
1 tsp cinnamon
1/3 cup raisins
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tbsp granulated sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening (or butter)
3/4 cup milk
icing :
Mix together 1/2 cup icing sugar, 1 tbsp milk and 1/2 tsp vanilla.

In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, butter, cinnamon and raisins; set aside
In a large bowl combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder and salt; mix thoroughly. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk all at once, stirring quickly with fork to make a soft, slightly sticky dough, don't over mix.
Turn out onto lightly flour surface, gather gently into ball and knead lightly about 10 times. Roll out dough to 10 inch square. Spread filling evenly over dough. Roll up, pinch edge to seal. With sharp knife, cut into 9 slices. Place in a greased 8 inch square pan. Bake at 425º for 15 o 18 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand for 3 minutes and then turn onto a cooling rack. Glaze with icing sugar or drizzle with icing sugar. Serve warm. Makes 9 rolls.
