2 tsp baking soda
2 c buttermilk
2 ¾ c sugar
2 c oil
3 eggs
1 ¼ tsp salt
6 c flour
2 T baking powder
2 T vanilla (or lemon flavor)

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve soda in buttermilk and set aside. Mix sugar, oil, eggs and salt in a large bowl. In separate bowl mix flour and baking powder. Add flour and buttermilk alternately to the sugar mixture. Add flavoring and drop on ungreased cookie sheet with teaspoon. Can sprinkle with sugar before baking. Bake at 450º for 5-6 minutes. If icing cookies, ice when cookies are hot out of the oven.
