Family Memories from Susan: Ever since I can remember, these have been made by my mother every Christmas. Every year, as our tree was being decorated in the bright lights of the living room, Mom would be in the kitchen preparing these cookies and the sound of the mixer and the smells from the kitchen would find its way to us. When the final touches were added to the tree, the living room lights were dramatically turned off and we admired our work as we sat under the colored lights and bulbs. Mom would bring in a large tray of fresh snowball cookies, and steamy hot chocolate in our personalized Santa mugs, complete with marshmellows. We would gather and sing Christmas carols as we sipped hot chocolate and munched snowball cookies. It is a tradition that is over fifty years old that continues today.
