2 c. crisco (melted)
1 T. sugar
4 tsp. vanilla
4 egg yolks
2 c. warm milk
2 T. sugar
2 pkgs. dry yeast
7 c. flour
pinch salt
4 tsp. baking powder


Filling:
2 c. crisco
4 sticks oleo
4 c. sugar
8 tsp. vanilla
2 c. hot milk
4 egg whites

Directions:
Directions:
Warm milk to 110-115º, add 2 T sugar and yeast. Combine melted crisco, 1 T. sugar, 4 tsp. vanilla and 4 egg yolks. Add yeast mixture. Then add flour, salt and baking powder. Let raise 30 minutes before rolling. Roll in ½ c. sugar and ¼ c. flour. Cut into strips about ¾ in. wide. Wrap around clothespins overlapping do 3 wraps around. Bake at 450 for 5 minutes on an ungreased sheet. Remove from pins after slightly cooled. Cool before filling

Filling:
Cream crisco, oleo and sugar. Add egg whites and vanilla. Add milk a little at a time. May be watery but will get firm. Don't chill filling
