3-4 c. blackberries, huckleberries or blueberries (fresh/frozen)
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. salt
1 c. milk
2 tbsp. margarine

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400º.
2. If using fresh berries, wash, drain, and pick off any steams or leaves. Remove frozen berries from freezer just before mixing batter.
3. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk.
4. Beat until smooth.
5. Place butter in 10x6 dish or other shallow 1 qt. baking dish and melt in oven.
6. Turn batter into dish, then add berries.
7. Bake 35-40 minutes for fresh berries or 45-50 minutes for frozen berries.Crust rises to the top and browns.
8. Serve warm with ice cream, milk, or cream.
