Cream
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar

Stir in:
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat after each addition:
2 eggs

Add to creamed mixture and mix well:
1½ c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. ground cloves
¼ tsp. nutmeg

Stir in:
3 c. oatmeal
1 c. dates, chopped

Directions:
Drop by teaspoons about 2 inches apart. Bake at 325º 10-15 minutes. Let cookies cool a few minutes before removing from the baking sheet. (5 dozen)
