Ingredients:  
3 teaspoons soda, dissolved in 1 1/2 cup cooled strong black coffee
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup honey
2 teaspoons ginger
2 teaspoons cinnamon
3-4 cups flour (enough to make soft dough)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together sugar and shortening.
Add honey to mixture.
Add spices and soda.
Add flour
Chill dough overnight
Roll dough out and cut with cookie cutterS.
Sprinkle with sugar before baking
Bake at 375º for 8-10 minutes
