4 'handfuls' white sugar ( approx 1-11/2 cups)
4 tbsp lard ( Can use 2 tbsp lard and 2 tbsp margarine)
2 tbsp salt
9-10 cups warm milk or water
2 pkgs of yeast with 1 cup warm water and 2 tsp sugar
Approx. 25 cups flour ( all purpose) to thicken

Directions:

1. Activate yeast with water and 2tsp sugar in a small bowl for approx 10 minutes
2. In large bowl, mix all ingredients together well
3. Let dough rise and punch down
4. Let dough rise again
5. Put in pans
6. Let rise in pans and bake at 350º until golden brown ( approx 25 minutes)

Funny note.... As I was writing out this recipe,the autocorrect was misbehaving. Instead of 4 handfuls of sugar, it wrote 4 Ghandi's.... Silly autocorrect. Lol. I also had to smile with this recipe of my grandma's. She really didn't use measuring utensils. She didn't need them.... She had her eyes and her hands to measure ingredients out.
