2 1/2 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 c butter (1 1/2 cube)
3/4 c sugar
2 TBL milk
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 c quaker oats

powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, milk to make your favorite frosting/glaze

Mix everything at once EXCEPT the oats. Stir in oats.

Roll to ¼-½" thick & cut out cookies

Bake 375º 10-15 minutes.

I like them kind of brown almost.

Let them cool. Frost with lots of different colored icing.

Janet Durgeloh was my 4th grade Sunday School teacher. She was a nurse. She was very involved at my church, but died quite young. Linda Durgeloh was one year behind me in school.

These have always been my favorite cookies. i much prefer the barely sweet flavor to sugar cookies. They are so much work I make them only once a year, and make a HUGE batch, doubling or tripling the recipe and spending 5 hours frosting them all.
