- 1/2 c butter, softened
- 1 c sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. heavy cream

**I double this recipe

FROSTING:
1 stick butter, softened
1 lb confectioners sugar (1 box or 1/2 of 2 lb bag)
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
1/4 c milk

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven - 375 degrees
2. Using Kitchen Aide or hand mixer, cream butter. Add sugar, egg and beat until fluffy.
3. Add vanilla and dry ingredients. Mix
4. Add heavy cream, mix.
5. Break into 3 -4 balls. Wrap in wax paper, refrigerate for approx. 2 hours (or overnight)
6. Cut slice - put in between wax paper. Roll out (thin) and cut with cookie cutters.
7. Place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
8. Bake 8 - 10 minutes.
9. Cool on cooling racks. (Can store these unfrosted cookies in the refrigerator or freezer until ready to frost)
10. Make frosting - scoop into separate bowls and use food coloring (green, yellow, red)
11. When cool, frost and decorate cookies. Cool in refrigerator or in garage for frosting to set before layering
them in a air-tight container with wax paper between layers.

FROSTING
Cream butter. Add confectioners sugar, salt, vanilla and milk. Blend then beat on high until very creamy.

This recipe started with Judy and I've been making them since I was a teenager! Still the best cookie ever!! Make them for Easter/spring, Halloween, or just because!
