1 - 250ml container of Margarine
1 - 250ml container of Sour Cream
1 cup White Granulated Sugar
3 cups Monarch Cake & Pastry Flour (maybe just a bit less)
3 tsp Baking Powder
¼ tsp Salt
¼ tsp Baking Soda
Nut mixture - mix together by hand: 1 cup chopped Walnuts with ½ cup White Granulated Sugar, 1 tsp Cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350ºF.
Mix together margarine, with sugar and eggs until smooth. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Add ⅓ of the flour mixture to wet mixture and beat until mixed well. Then add ½ the sour cream container and mix well. Again add another ⅓ flour mixture, beat well, then remaining sour cream and mix well, and finally the remaining flour mixture. Beat well. Scoop ½ the cake batter with a spatula into a greased/floured tube cake pan - sprinkle ½ the walnut mixture over it. Then add remaining cake batter and top with remaining walnut mixture. Bake for 45 min.

Nonna has been baking this since she arrival to Canada. Auntie Jean was a lady who Nonna met & taught her this recipe. They would sometimes get together and bake 10 and freeze them. One more thing - Nonna insisted the following brands were used for the best results: Monarch (Cake & Pastry flour), Blue Bonnet (Margarine) & Magic Baking Powder.
