1. Peel and Cut pear and slice very thin.
2. 1 cup of pears.
3. 1 cup of sugar.

Peel and cut pears and slice very thin.
Bring to a boil - simmer
Simmer for 20 minutes.
Check texture after 10 minutes.
Pour in clean jars (this is important) that have had hot water standing in them.
Can't read the rest but I think it indicates to put melted paraffin over top. That waxy white sealer I think...

This is from Granny's handwriting and I think there is more to the recipe. You can always google pear marmalade to compare her recipe to others.

This one is simple and really good. If you can get the paraffin over the top and make sure it's melted. I think it's that waxy material that seals the marmalade.

I have a bunch of Mom and Granny's recipes that are hard to understand. I think they knew them so well they may have left some details out when they wrote it down on a recipe card. Either way I remember this treat at the breakfast table an on a good ole slice of wonder bread toasted. Nothing better.
