Ingredients:  
1 cup persimmon pulp
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup shortening
1 cup coarsely ground raisins
2 cups flour
½ teaspoon each cloves and nutmeg
1 egg
Dash of salt
1 cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve soda in persimmon pulp
Mix raisins and nuts with flour
Mix all remaining ingredients and chill.
Bake at 375 degrees for 12 -13 minutes (more if you prefer)
