Grandma's Pizzelles Recipe

6 eggs
3½ cups flour
1½ cups sugar
1 cup butter, melted
4 tsp baking powder
Flavorings:
1 Tbsp Sam Bucco
1 Tbsp vanilla
1 Tbsp almond
1 Tbsp lemon
1 Tbsp orange
(or 2 Tbsp vanilla or anise can be used instead of all of the flavorings)

Directions:

Beat eggs, adding sugar gradually. Beat until smooth. Add cooled margarine and flavorings. Sift flour, and baking powder.
Blend into egg mixture until smooth. Dough will be sticky enough to be dropped by spoon onto a hot Pizzelle Baker.

* For a variation, you can add finely chopped walnuts or pecans. Blend into Classic Pizzelle dough before cooking.

Makes approx. 60 pizzelles.

Your grandmother always made pizzelles to add to her cookie trays. They were always a favorite. Light and easy to make! Dust them with powdered sugar before serving for a decorative finish.
