1 cooked Spiral ham
liquid smoke
1 bag of baby Lima beans


Dumplings
1 cup of flour
½ tsp salt
enough water to make it damp

Directions:
Directions:
Fill a large pot a little more than half way full
add whole ham along with salt, pepper, garlic
2-3 caps full of Liquid smoke

Bring broth to a rolling boil and let cook fo 1-3 hours until you are satisfied with the flavor of the broth

After an hour and a half pull out the ham and carve it.

take about 4 big cuts of ham and chop it up into smaller pieces and place back in broth along with Ham bone. Place remaining ham in a freezer bag and place in refrigerator to use for whatever you want.

Bring soup back to a rolling boil and then reduce heat and let simmer for another hour or so.

in the last 20 mins or so mix the ingredients for the dumplings, if it is too wet add flour, if it is too dry add small amounts of water at a time till you make a soft dough.

pinch off nickle to quarter sized pieces and drop into the soup. let them cook the last 20 mins until cooked all the way through and lima beans are tender.

you may add more liquid smoke if necessary.

enjoy with french bread and butter
