1 1/4 cups sugar
1 cup (1 stick) Crisco shortening
2 eggs
1/4 cup light corn syrup or regular pancake syrup
1 tbsp. vanilla
3 cups flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Heat ove to 375. Combine sugar and crisco in large bowl and beat until well blended. Add eggs, syrup, and vanilla. Beat until fluffy.

Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to creamed mixture at low speed. Mix until well blended. Divide into 4 parts. TIP, if dough is too soft or sticky to roll, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about an hour.

Roll dough out, cut with floured cutter and transfer to ungreased cookie sheet and decorate.
Bake one sheet at a time for 5-9 minutes, depending on the size of your cookies. Do not overbake.

Cool 2 minutes on sheets then remove to cook completely on racks.
