Cookies:
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs (beaten)
2 teaspoons vanilla
6 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons salt
2/3 cups sour buttermilk

Filling:
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 tablespoons flour
3 cups ground seedless raisins
1 1/2 cups water

Directions:

1. Cream butter with sugar.
2. Add eggs with vanilla.
3. Sift dry ingredients together.
4. Add alternately to cream to mixture with milk.
5. Mix well and chill overnight.

Filling:
6. Stir and simmer ingredients until thickened. Cool.
7. Roll cookie dough, a portion at a time, on a floured board or pastry cloth, Cut with 3 inch. round cutter.
8. Put a spoonful of filling in center of one circle and top with another.
9. Moisten edges with a little water and press together with fork tines.
10. Bake at 375º 17-20 minutes.
11. Cool.

Aunt Kathy used to make these at Christmas time. She had one of those large metal popcorn tins that she would put outside when it was cold and store the cookies in it.
