Ingredients: Cookies: 1 cup butter 2 cups sugar 2 eggs (beaten) 2 teaspoons vanilla 6 cups sifted flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 teaspoons salt 2/3 cups sour buttermilk
Filling: 1 1/2 cups sugar 3 tablespoons flour 3 cups ground seedless raisins 1 1/2 cups water

Directions:1. Cream butter with sugar. 2. Add eggs with vanilla. 3. Sift dry ingredients together. 4. Add alternately to cream to mixture with milk. 5. Mix well and chill overnight.
Filling: 6. Stir and simmer ingredients until thickened. Cool. 7. Roll cookie dough, a portion at a time, on a floured board or pastry cloth, Cut with 3 inch. round cutter. 8. Put a spoonful of filling in center of one circle and top with another. 9. Moisten edges with a little water and press together with fork tines. 10. Bake at 375º 17-20 minutes. 11. Cool. |
