2 lbs. beef chuck, cut in 1-inch cubes
1 onion cut up in big pieces
4 cups water
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 bay leaves
1-tablespoon salt
1/2-teaspoon ground pepper
1/2-teaspoon paprika
Dash allspice or cloves
1-teaspoon sugar

4 potatoes cut in cubes
5 carrots sliced

Directions:
Directions:
Brown meat, add onions. Add water through sugar. Simmer 2
hours or 1 hour in pressure cooker. Add potatoes and carrots.
Cook for about 15 minutes. Thicken with cornstarch with
water. (About 2 tablespoons of each, mixed together)

Serve with rolls, sourdough bread, or any crusty bread.
