chocolate gravy:

1 cup sugar
1/4 - 1/2 cup baking cocoa
1 cup water (or 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup milk)

Bisquick drop biscuits:

2 1/4 cups Bisquick mix
2/3 cup milk

Directions:

chocolate gravy:

- add water and/or milk to a small sauce pot
- add the cocoa
- whisk together till blended
- heat on medium, stirring/whisking constantly
- as sauce begins to warm up, add sugar
- slowly bring the chocolate sauce to a slow boil
- remove from burner as soon as sauce begins to thicken
- serve warm over biscuits

Bisquick biscuits:

- preheat oven to 425º
- in a medium bowl, stir ingredients together until soft dough forms
- do not over stir
- drop by spoonfuls onto un-greased cookie sheet
- bake 12 - 15 minutes or until tops of peaks on dough are golden brown

This recipe is not Mama Hazel's original recipe. I have tried to re-create it to the best of my memory of her making it. I know she used only water in her chocolate gravy which made it a bit thinner. If you like your chocolate gravy to be creamier, use 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup milk.
