Bottom and Top Mixture:
3 cups of flour
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
3 cups of oat’s
3 cups of brown sugar
2 cups of butter (or margarine)

Hand mix all ingredients together.

Filling:
2 blocks of dates
1 tsp vanilla

Cook dates until soft and water has evaporated. Add vanilla.
Cool mixture.

Preheat oven to 350⁰.
Lightly grease pan, and place ½ the oats mixture in the bottom. Press.
Spread the date mixture on top. Cover with remaining oats mixture.
Bake for 30 - 45 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool, cut into squares and serve.
