1 1/4 CUP FIRMLY PACKED LIGHT BROWN SUGAR
2 TBSP MILK
1 TBSP VANILLA
1 EGG
2 CUPS FLOUR
1 TSP SALT
3/4 TSP BAKING SODA
1 CUP SEMI SWEET CHOCOLATE CHIPS
1 CUP CHOPPED PECANS

HEAT OVEN TO 375 DEGREES

BEAT SHORTENING, BROWN SUGAR, MILK AND VANILLA IN LARGE BOWL. ADD EGG.

STIR IN FLOUR, SALT AND BAKING SODA IN MEDIUM BOWL. ADD TO CREAMED MIXTURE UNTIL WELL BLENDED.

STIR IN CHOCOLATE CHIPS AND NUTS.

DROP BY TABLESPOONS 3 INCHES APART ON BAKING SHEETS.
