3 lbs. ripe pears [ 9 cups]
1 cup diced pineapple
grated rind and juice of 1 lime
5 cups sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Wash peel,core and slice before measuring. Run through food chopper using fine blade.Dice pineapple fine and combine with pears. Add the lime rind and lime juice. Add sugar and cook over slow heat, stirring frequently. Cook for 20 minutes. Pack in sterilized jars and seal while hot.

Family Memories from Pam Cater Rickenbaugh: I lived in my Grandmother's house as a child growing up. I remember the fruit trees in the back yard. [I had to pick up the fallen fruit to help my brothers mow the grass.] Although I can't remember my Grandmother, I can certainly see her making this recipe from the pears that were raised in her own back yard.
