4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup Crisco
½ cup butter or margarine
1 large egg
⅔ cup milk
1 cup currents or raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, baking powder, nutmeg and salt. Cream Crisco, butter or margarine. Mix well with egg and milk. Add currents or raisins. Knead into ball and roll out to ¼ inch. Cut with 3 inch cutter or glass. Don't forget to flour the surface when rolling out. Heat skillet (or oven) to 350º. Bake or fry 4-5 minutes until golden brown on both sides.
