2 cups of oatmeal
1 cup of butter or margarine
1 cup of brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp of baking soda dissolved in 1/4 cup of hot water.

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together the butter and brown sugar.
Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
Form into balls and then flatten them on the cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes.
