1 c sugar
1c margarine or butter
4 oz pkge cream cheese
½ t salt
½ t almond extract
½ t vanilla extract
1 egg yolk (reserve white)
2 c all purpose flour
colored sugar, if desired
Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine sugar, margarine, cream cheese, salt, almond extract, vanilla & egg yolk; blend well. Stir in flour until well blended. Refrigerate dough 2 hours.

Preheat oven to 350ºF. On lightly floured surface, roll out dough, ⅓ at a time to ⅛" thickness. Cut into desired shapes with lightly floured cookie cutters. Place one inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Leave cookies plain or, if desired, brush with slightly beaten egg white and sprinkle with colored sugar. Bake for 7 - 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely. If desired, frost and decorate plain cookies.
