Brownies:
2 C. plain flour
2 C. sugar
1/2 t. salt
1 stick of butter
1 C. water
1/2 C. shortening
3 T Cocoa
3 Eggs
1 t. Baking Soda
1 t. Vanilla
1/2 C. Buttermilk

Icing:
1/2 C. butter
3 T. Cocoa
6 T. Milk
1 t. Vanilla
1 box Powdered Sugar

Brownies:

Sift first three ingredients-set aside

Combine butter, water, shortening and cocoa in a sauce pan and bring to a boil-pour this over the flour mixture

In another bowl mix eggs, baking soda, vanilla, and buttermilk-MIX WELL

Add the egg mixture to the other mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees in a well greased cookie sheet/jelly roll pan for about 20 minutes.


Icing:
Melt/mix butter, Cocoa, milk, and vanilla. Once melted and mixed well add the powdered sugar and mix. You may want to add a little at a time and mix.
Spread icing over brownies.
