1½ lb ground beef
2-3 large carrots
2-3 stalks celery
2 large onions
4-6 garlic cloves, minced
2 28-32oz canned crushed tomatoes
16-18oz tomato paste
1½ Tbsp basil
1½ Tbsp parsley flakes (or 3 Tbsp fresh chopped parsley)
2 Tbsp Italian seasoning
pinch nutmeg
pinch sage
1 bay leaf
10-15 mushrooms, sliced
6 Italian sausage links, browned
For meatballs:
1 lb ground beef
1 egg
dried Italian bread crumbs
parmesan cheese

Directions:
Directions:
In large dutch oven, brown ground beef for meat sauce. Chop vegetables fine and add to cooked meat. Add tomatoes, tomato paste,basil, parsley, Italian seasoning, nutmeg, sage, bayleaf and mushrooms. Bring to a boil and then turn down to a simmer. Brown sasage in large pan and add to sauce. Mix meatball ingredients together and shape into 1½" balls. Brown in same skillet and then add to sauce. Cook several hours on low simmer. Add water as needed (possibly 1 cup) Season with salt and pepper to taste. Skim excess grease from top. Serve over pasta
