1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter or margarine
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 eggs
2 teas. cinnamon
1 teas. baking soda dissolved in
2/3 c. water
Raisins, dates, nuts (I just use raisins) to taste

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together.
Drop from spoon onto baking sheet pan.
Bake at 350º for approximately 10 minutes.

Mom made these every fall for Dad. He never went out hunting without a big tin of these cookies.
I called them breakfast cookies because I never minded if the boys would grab a handful for breakfast as they were running out the door to school.
It's a hearty cookie!
