½ cup butter, softened
½ cup shortening
½ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2¾ cups flour
1-12-oz. pkg. white chocolate chips
2 cups chopped macadamia nuts

Preheat oven to 375º. In a large bowl beat butter and shortening with an electric mixer on medium high speed for about 30 seconds. Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking soda and salt. Beat ingredients until combined scraping side of bowl, occasionally. Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in any remaining flour, the white chocolate pieces and the macadamia nuts. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons, 2 inches apart onto un-greased cookie sheets. Bake for 8 to 9 minutes or just until edges are light brown. Cool on cookie sheets for a few minutes then transfer to a wire racks to cool.
