1 c. Raisins added to 2 c. water boiled down to 1 c.
1 c. Sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp. Soda dissolved in raisin water
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
1 c. Chopped Nuts if desired
4 T. Butter
2 c. Flour
1 T. Cocoa
1 tsp. Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cook raisin and water down to 1 cup.
Cream butter and sugar, add beaten egg.
Add soda in hot liquid mixture.
Sift flour, baking powder, salt and spices and add to liquid mixture. Beat well, add vanilla.
Pour in to 9x13 greased pan and bake at 350º for 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
