1 1/2 c sugar
1 1/2 c rogers or corn syrup
3/4 c margarine
3/4 c lard
1 c sour cream
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp each - nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, star aniseed
7 1/2 c flour

Directions:
Directions:
1- Combine all ingredients to make a stiff dough.
2- Take sections of dough and roll into pinky width rolls about 1 ft long
3- Roll the rolls in wax paper
4- Store rolls in sealed plastic bag in freezer till ready to use
5- When ready to bake, heat oven to 350º
6- Remove from paper and cut frozen rolls into thin bite size pieces
7- Bake 6-8 minutes till bottoms are slightly brown but tops still white
8- Serve warm or cool.

Yet another Christmas favorite - this one from the Redekop side of the family. Auntie Gwen has made these every year by Uncle Kevin's birthday in mid November and makes enough to last her family thru Christmas. She often would give rolls of the frozen dough to the guys in the family who prefer to eat it without baking...yuck! If any are left she brings them baked but not warm. When I eat these I prefer them straight from the oven warm and soft!
