2 c flour
2 c sugar
1/2 c margarine
1/2 c shortening
1 c strong brewed coffee
1/4 c dark cocoa
1/2 c buttermilk (can use 2 tsp vinegar or lemon juice in 1/2 c milk)
2 eggs
1 tsp baking sode
1 tsp vanilla

Frosting
1/2 c margarine
2 tbsp dark cocoa
1/4 c milk
3 1/2 c icing sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Preheat oven to 400º

1- in large bowl combine flour and sugar
2- In medium pot combine butter, shortening, coffee, lard and cocoa. Stir and heat to a boil
3- Pour boiling mixture over the flour and sugar in the bowl. Add the buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla
4- Mix well using wooden spoon or mixer till lump free.
5- Pour into well buttered 17x11 pan. Bake for 20 min or till center tests done
7- While brownies bake make the frosting
8- In a pot combine butter, cocoa and milk. Heat to boiling stirring constantly.Remove from heat.
9- Mix in the icing sugar and vanilla till frosting is smooth.
10- Pour warm frosting over brownies as soon as you take them out of the oven.

These texas brownies need no introduction! A favorite of everyone with its cake like texture and icing to die for! So easy to make too. Dress them up with a sprinkling of icing sugar and a berry ontop of each bar for an impressive presentation!
