Ingredients: 7 ½ cups flour 7 ½ teaspoons baking powder Pinch of salt
2 ½ cups sugar 6 eggs 1 small bottle vanilla ¼ cup honey Juice of 1 orange ½ lb of Crisco** Egg whites and sprinkles

Directions:Pre-heat oven to 350º In a large bowl or pot (as Dad did) put sugar, flour, baking powder and Crisco. In another bowl or pot put eggs, vanilla, honey and orange juice. Mix to form workable dough Add more flour if needed. Roll out into snake like pieces and shape into an S. Brush cookie with egg white and sprinkle with sprinkles. Bake fo 15 minutes until golden brown. |

Notes: OK, so dad didn’t have a good mixer and did everything by hand. In an actual large pot. It was amazing to watch when I was younger. He used to let me roll the dough and cut the pieces with him. Loved helping him with was a rarity because he usually didn’t want anyone watching him. Lol I’ve changed this a bit. I use a mixer and recently made cookies with butter instead of Crisco. Mix all wet ingredients and then add flour/baking powder and salt mixture. Dad would have loved my heavy duty mixer.
