Notes: Grandma Mona's Nut Goodie Bars became Anthony's contribution to our Christmas meal when Anthony was in high school.
After many fruitless attempts to entice Anthony out of bed to help prep for the holiday festivities, I resorted to assigning him the shortest task with the greatest reward. Making Nut Goodie Bars takes just 15 minutes and the residual chocolate concoction lining the bowl makes for extremely pleasant clean-up. Now 10 years later, no enticing is required.
I still marvel at the fact that our "foodie" neighbors Ruby Day and company start dropping hints early December that they are looking forward to Anthony's arrival. A plate of nut goodie bars (foodies that like marshmallows, really?) and a fresh baked pumpkin bread are delivered to the Days early Christmas morning. There is still plenty to satisfy our crew too.
