Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups chopped green onions 1 can dices green chiles, drained or 1 cup chopped green pepper - optional 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil 3/4 pound mushrooms, sliced 1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 can (10 3/4 ounce) condensed cream of chicken soup 1 package (8 ounce) cream cheese, softened and cut into chunks 1 cup chicken broth 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves, crushed 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano leaves, crushed 1/4 teaspoon pepper 2 cups cubed cooked chicken 1 cup small curd cottage cheese
1 package (16 ounce) ziti, cooked and drained 6 ounce sharp cheddar cheese, shredded 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese paprika

Directions: |
Directions:At least 1 1/2 hours or up to 24 hours before serving, sauteé onions, green chiles and garlic in oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium heat. Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until onions are tender. Add mushrooms and parsley; cook and stir for 2 minutes.
Add soup, cream cheese, chicken broth, basil, oregano and pepper, stirring until cream cheese is melted. Stir in chicken and cottage cheese until well mixed. Mix in cooked ziti.
In a 3 quart oblong baking dish, layer half of the ziti mixture and all of the cheddar cheese. Add remaining ziti mixture and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and paprika. If making ahead, cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours.
Bake, uncovered, at 350º for 30-40 minutes until bubbly and heated through. |
