4 potatoes, peeled and cut up
2 carrots cut into small pieces
2 stalks celery, cut into small pieces
14.5 ounces chicken broth
water to cover vegetables
1 quart canned or fresh tomatoes, cut up
2 medium onions, chopped
1/2 head cabbage, shredded
1 can pinto beans
1 can corn
1 can tomato soup
1 can green beans
Variation: Add 1 pound ground beef, cooked and drained.
Instead of chicken broth and water, use 48 ounces of V-8 vegetable juice.

Directions:
Directions:
Put potatoes, celery, and carrots into large pot.
Add chicken broth and enough water to cover the vegetables.
Bring to boil and boil for 10 minutes.

Then add tomatoes, onions, and cabbage. Cook for 15 minutes.

Add pinto beans, corn, tomato soup, and green beans at end until warm.

This recipe came from my mom. Many years ago I had an aunt Eva who made this recipe, but she was the one who added the tomato soup that I really liked. My mom then started adding it also when she made it. Makes a large pot of soup.
