Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 Cups Butter (softened)
1 1/2 Cups Sugar
2 Eggs
3 Large Bananas
1 tsp Vanilla
2 Cups Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
1/3 Cup Buttermilk
1 Cup Walnuts or Pecan

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º F and grease 2 loaf pans (I usually use Pam or the baking spray with flour works well too). In a stand mixer with whisk attachment, cream together the butter and sugar. Mix in eggs, vanilla and bananas. I usually just chunk up the bananas into the mixing bowl and let the whisk attachment mash them up while mixing. In a separate bowl mix together the flour, baking soda and and salt then alternate adding them to the batter with the buttermilk starting with the flour mixture. Once everything is combined fold in the nuts with a rubber spatula. Split the batter between the 2 prepared loaf pans and back for 1 hour or until a toothpick stuck into the center comes out clean without any batter on it.
Let cool before turning out of pans. These loaves do freeze very well if you wrap them in plastic wrap and then tinfoil.

Out of all the Banana Bread Recipes I've tried this one is still my favorite and I'm not just saying that because it's one of my Great Grandmothers.
