Step One:
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 sticks margerine
1 cup evaporated mild + 3 tsp vinegar


Step Two:
4 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400

Cream together ingredients in Step One

Add ingredients in Step Two

Mix well and chill dough for 30 minutes

Roll out dough to about 1/4 inch

Cut with a round water glass or cookie cutter

Bake in over at 400 for 7 minutes bake longer for crispier cookies but I love them soft.

In my Grandma's kitchen there was always a cookie jar on the counter right next to the stool that I always sat on while watching her make breakfast, lunch and dinner. I knew these delicious cookies were in there and got pretty good at sneaking them out of that cookie jar while her back was turned. She probably knew but let me do it anyway. Years later I found out that all of us cousins did the same thing.
