Cookies – Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter
3 eggs
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla

Filling – Ingredients
1 pound of chopped dates
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water


Directions:
Directions:
For the Cookies -
Cream sugar, brown sugar, and butter. Add eggs, flour, baking soda, and vanilla.
Mix well and chill for one hour.

For the Filling -
Cook dates, sugar and water until thick.
Roll dough on a floured surface to 1/2 inch thick. Spread filling over dough. Roll up into a roll and refrigerate or freeze overnight.
Slice about 1/2-inch thick and bake on a greased and floured cookie sheet at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes.
