Ingredients:  
2 cups brown sugar
½ cup butter
½ cup sour milk
2 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup boiling water, divided
2 squares baking chocolate, melted and cooled
2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar with butter
Add sour milk and sifted dry ingredients
Add 1/2 cup boiling water and beat for 2 minutes
Stir in the melted chocolate, eggs and remaining boiling water
Beat for 2 minutes
Pour batter in greased 8 x 12 baking pan
Bake at 350º for about 40 minutes or until the cake tests done
Frost with confectioners sugar icing

I remember Grandma Ganshirt bringing this cake over on a piece of cardboard covered with aluminum foil. There isn’t a recipe for the frosting but it’s probably the one on the powdered sugar box. This cake usually had chocolate buttercream frosting on it. Not really sure how she got it out of the pan in one piece!
