3/4 c. shortening or butter
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1/3 c. molasses
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together shortening, brown sugar, egg and molasses in a large bowl. Add dry ingredients and miss well. Chill dough for at least 1 hour. Roll into small balls and dip in granulated sugar. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 375º for 8 minutes.
