Caramel Mixture


Ingredients:

2 Tbsp Butter or Margarine
1 ½ Cup Water
¼ tsp Salt
1 ½ Cup Packed Brown Sugar

1. Combine 2 Tbsp butter, water, salt and brown sugar in a 10-inch skillet. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
 

Dumplings


Ingredients:  
Ingredients:  
1 ¼ Cup Flour
⅓ Cup Sugar
2 tsp Baking Powder
½ tsp Salt
2 Tbsp Butter or Margarine
⅓ Cup+ 1 Tbsp Milk
1 tsp Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
2. Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in 2 Tbsp butter until fine. Add milk and vanilla all at once and stir until dough clings together in a ball.
3. Reheat caramel mixture to boiling point. Drop dough by tablespoons into simmering sauce. Cover tightly and simmer 20 minutes. Serve warm with cream. Serves 6-8.
