½ cup shortening
1 egg, well beaten
1½ tsp. baking powder
½ cup chopped nuts
1 cup brown sugar
1½ cup sifted flour
¼ tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and brown sugar together until light. Stir in egg, then ad sifted dry ingredients. Add nuts and vanilla and blend well. Place mixture on waxed paper and chill overnight. Slice thin and bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400ºF.
