8 sticks butter, softened
4 eggs
4 cups sifted powdered sugar
4 teaspoons vanilla
10 cups plain flour
4 teaspoonfuls baking powder

Icing:
1 box powdered sugar
Food coloring
Drops of water




Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together. Chill in refrigerator for about 1 hour. Roll dough into balls (about the size of a quarter) and place on cookie sheet. Poke a hole in center of cookie with thumb. Bake at 325º for 11-12 minutes. Cool. Put icing in thumb hole.

Icing:
Mix to cup of confectioners sugar at a time, add whatever color food coloring you want, add drops of cold water and mix until desired consistency. Put in thumb hole of cookie.
Continue mixing one cup of sugar, food coloring, and water until add cookies have been iced.

DO NOT MIX ALL OF CONFECTIONERS SUGAR, FOOD COLORING, AND WATER AT ONE TIME BECAUSE ICING WILL HARDEN.
