1 egg
1/4 c. sugar
1 c. mashed potatoes
1/2 c. shortening
6 1/2 c. to 7 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. warm milk
1 pkg. yeast
1 c. raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, salt, shortening, and mashed potatoes. Add beaten egg and some flour. Add milk, in which yeast has been dissolved. Add rest of flour and the raisins. Let rise once and punch down. the second time of rising roll out dough and cut into doughnuts. Let rise until light and then deep fry. Glaze while warm.

Glaze: Use powdered sugar, some water, and vanilla. Glaze should be consistency of thick cream.
