1 ½ c. sugar
¾ c. butter or Crisco
2 eggs
2 ½ c. flour
1 c. raisins
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. cloves
2 c. oatmeal
1 t. vanilla
½ t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
1 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
1. Turn oven on to 350º.
2. *IMPORTANT* Put the one cup water and one cup raisins in a pot on stove. Bring them to a boil. Then turn off and allow to cool while you mix the rest of the ingredients.
3. Put flour, salt, cloves, cinnamon, baking soda, and baking powder in a bowl. (Do not add oatmeal) Set aside.
4. In mixing bowl combine butter and sugar. Then add eggs and vanilla. Mix.
5. Add flour and other dry ingredients. (Do not add oatmeal) Mix.
6. After that alternate adding 'raisins and water' and oatmeal to the dough. (Raisins and water combination does not have to be cold or even cool - just add)
7. Just stir until mixed.
8. Spoon onto cookie sheet and bake for 8 minutes or until desired brown or crispness.

These Old Fashion Oatmeal Cookies are one of my dad's favorites (Rollie Rabbit Radtke). They are especially yummy because the raisins are moist because you boil them in water.
