12-16 (uncooked) chicken pieces (or can use all drumsticks, or all wings)
1 1/2 cups flour (approximate)

1 cup milk or buttermilk (approximate)

1 bottle of BBQ sauce

1 medium can tomato juice

Directions:
Dip chicken pieces in the milk/buttermilk and then in the flour/salt/pepper mixture to coat the pieces, then brown the individual pieces in a skillet with a layer of hot oil for frying, as you would for fried chicken, making sure the chicken is cooked thoroughly, then layer the fried chicken pieces in a crock pot, pouring over the BBQ sauce and the tomato juice, and slow cook until all pieces are covered with warm BBQ sauce mixture (probably two hours is enough). Serve and eat.

Best served with fluffy rice and fresh farm veggies. This was my favorite Grandma Drerup-inspired meal as a little girl.
